Sometimes you need a little inspiration.
Or a lot of inspiration. Here is a list of sites that offer templates you can customize to your own specific needs. There are a lot of different styles available, so see what speaks to you. And remember that you can play around with whatever you use to make it truly years - and learn something in the process.
You can spend some time learning HTML and CSS via the resources on this site, or just look for bits and snippets of code, or widgets.
- Egg Ramen has a selection of pretty simple templates.
- Gerlindahas a linkware websets. "What's Linkware?" It's old school, a place where you can get a themed webset (buttons, dividers, a header, a background) for free and in return you link back to the originating site.
- [sweetEMBED] has a small collection of templates. It's linked again later for the other resources on the site. Kwaamfan's layouts/codes include Wii and Stardew Valley templates.
- All Free Download has over 2000 downloadable templates/layouts in different styles and levels of complexity.
- Dogmeat has a lot of resources including 3 free templates, one of which is an open notebook/dayplanner that I've seen in a lot of places. It's pretty easy to understand and customize.
- Almost Sweethas 3 sweet layouts including a Sailor Moon one.
- Theme Kings has a selection of templates organized by era.
- Nenrikido has multiple themes including some cute cherry blossom and some modern subdued rainbow ones.
- The Rainbow Locker has some layouts as well as graphics.
- Websets by Lynn features a wide variety of assets including templates and a layout generator.
- Neothemes, a small selection of clean themes.
- Zonelets templates/themes. These are themes for zonelets, a blogging platform. They're a little more customizable than Wordpress templates, but not as easy to use.
- Kale Chips layouts. Mobile responsive. A variety of very clean looking, simple styles.
- Repth's themes. Pretty cute, some are mobile responsive. Different sized text boxes, different flavors.
- Will Dot Jpg has a handful of themes. And a duck.
- Beep Bird has templates, along with ease-of-use ratings so you can kind of expect what you're in for.
- Cepheus Layouts which include the .css files.
- Nomnomnami has multiple templates, which include her original art. Check out her webcomic too!
- Tina Colada's LaLaLoopsy themed template. It's cool to see such a specific theme, and with a little creativity you can customize it a bit more.
- Rarebit is an HTML and JS theme for webcomics. It looks like a good replacement for comicpress. We need MORE webcomics. Get on that!
- Itinerae layouts come in two and three columns, in a variety of colors/vibes.
- Quackit CSS Flexbox Templates.
- AWP - Accessible Web Pages With Text To Speech is "a collection of web page templates that can be used to generate accessible content that require minimal additional assistive technology because the supports are built in."
